At the end of Kate and Ali’s wedding back in September, I was invited to return to The Granary at Fawsley for their wedding showcase as one of their recommended suppliers. Of course, I immediately said yes! I packed up that night, headed home, and began planning my setup. I wanted to do something similar to the Chelmsford Racecourse wedding showcase, displaying multiple paintings on easels while painting live during the event.

Early Sunday morning, I set off in my car, packed not only for the showcase but also for a wedding the very next day. Just five minutes into the drive, I realised I had forgotten my Converse shoes. After a brief pause at home to check, I discovered they were still in the car from the last showcase, and finally began my two hour and twenty minute drive to Daventry.

The roads were clear, so I blasted Taylor Swift the whole way, building up my confidence and energy before arriving twenty minutes early at the stunning Granary at Fawsley wedding venue. Although it was freezing, the bright blue skies highlighted the beauty of the countryside. The Granary at Fawsley is a relaxed and romantic wedding venue that blends rustic character with a touch of modern style. Couples can choose from two ceremony spaces: the spacious Wedding Barn, perfect for larger weddings of up to 200 guests, or the intimate Grain Store, ideal for smaller celebrations. The Barn, once used for farming, has been transformed with soft drapes, thousands of fairy lights, and a handmade oak bar, creating a warm and welcoming space for both ceremony and reception. The Grain Store, part of the original Grade II listed Granary, features oak beams, leaded windows, and stunning countryside views, making it a charming and personal setting for smaller weddings.

When I arrived, I found Kaci and Charlotte setting up the Barn. They welcomed me so warmly and showed me to my space. One of the vendors had cancelled that morning, so I ended up with a much bigger area, which was perfect. I got straight to work setting up, with just an hour to prepare. I created a simple but beautiful display that worked perfectly for me and brought along a few pencil drawings of horses and dogs to showcase my skill and relevance as a live wedding painter.

The staff at The Granary were incredibly welcoming. They complimented my work and made me feel right at home, almost like part of the family. The owner also introduced herself and asked about my business, my story, and my artwork. It is so special to feel seen and heard, especially after spending so many hours quietly in my studio creating art. Sharing my journey and my live wedding painting process is not just exciting but also healing it reminds me that I am finally doing the work I was meant to do.

Once the showcase began, I quietly painted in my corner, not expecting too many visitors at first. But soon, the room was electric, filled with couples exploring the stunning Granary at Fawsley wedding venue. I continued painting, allowing couples to come over naturally rather than forcing conversations.

One thing I often forget is my pricing. It might sound unprofessional, but for me, it shows that my focus is not on the money but on the artwork itself. The live wedding painting is about capturing the memory of the day and creating something unique just for the bride and groom. Your photos capture moments with your guests, but a painting is your private keepsake, a stolen moment of your day between you, your partner, and me. When couples ask about pricing and I stumble, it’s not embarrassment it’s because the art itself is my priority.

I loved speaking to so many couples, sharing my story, and showing them how a live wedding painting can bring something truly special to their big day.

At the end of the day, I was sad to pack up. I was the second to last vendor to leave, chatting with the final couple still exploring before heading on my drive to Cheltenham. The team at The Granary wished me a safe journey and thanked me for being there. I cannot wait to return for another wedding at this beautiful venue, hopefully in 2026.

A huge thank you again to Charlotte and Kaci, and to all the wonderful staff at The Granary at Fawsley, who welcomed me with open arms once again.
