I’ve Made Some Big Changes

Over the past couple of months, I have been quietly working on catching up with my commissioned artwork and the two remaining live wedding paintings that some of you may have noticed I haven’t posted very much about recently. Alongside this, I’m also planning my own wedding for this coming September and dealing with a few small health issues, which have unfortunately taken up quite a lot of my time. That said, I am incredibly excited for the upcoming summer wedding season. I already have a couple of bookings in place and I cannot wait to get started.

I’ve also been invited to attend several wedding fairs and events this year. However, many of them can be extremely expensive for a small business like mine, so I made the decision to skip the first few this year. That doesn’t mean I’ve disappeared though I still post to my social media channels every single day, so you can always see the work I’m currently creating.

When it comes to my live wedding art, I’ve been paying close attention to which packages have been most popular on my website and which ones haven’t been requested as often. One of the most common questions I’ve been asked is whether I could offer graphite drawings as well. Over the past year of attending weddings and painting beautiful couples, I’ve started to notice what canvas sizes work best during the event and how much time I realistically have to paint the couple compared to what they see by the end of the evening. It’s no secret that the painting isn’t fully completed by the time the wedding finishes – I’m far too much of a perfectionist to rush it. However, once the couple have had their mini photo session with me, I focus solely on them and try to capture as many of the finer details as possible before the night ends.

One of my absolute favourite mediums has always been graphite pencil. I’ve loved working with it since the very beginning of my journey as an artist, and I’ve created many portraits of animals and people for clients around the world. It has always been something very special to me. After recently changing the paper I work on, I’ve decided to finally offer graphite portraits as an option within my wedding packages.

For the final three packages Topaz, Ruby, and Diamond  couples can now choose between a colourful, expressive painted piece or a highly detailed graphite portrait. This gives you the freedom to select the style that best suits your vision for your wedding artwork.

The setup for graphite portraits on the day will be slightly different from the painting setup, and this will all be discussed with you fully at the time of booking.
