Story
Hi, I’m Rachael a passionate live wedding artist based in Basildon Essex, UK. I’ve spent years perfecting my craft as a professional, award-winning pencil artist, and today, I pour that same dedication and precision into every brushstroke as I bring love stories to life on canvas.
Before stepping fully into the world of art, I worked for over a decade as a Senior Zookeeper at Colchester Zoo. While it was a fulfilling role, it was through art that I truly found my voice. In 2020, after the birth of my daughter and during a challenging period of postnatal depression and anxiety, I rediscovered my love for drawing. Picking up a pencil became a source of calm and strength and from that turning point, I began taking commissions and building a name as a recognised and established artist with clients across the world.
My early focus on detailed animal portraiture, particularly horses, helped refine my technical skill and ability to capture personality, movement, and emotion qualities that now shine through in every wedding painting I create. In 2022, I was incredibly proud to win Equine Service of the Year at the prestigious Equestrian Business Awards, a moment I’ll never forget. In 2023, I was honoured to be invited back as a judge, lending my eye for detail and deep appreciation of craft to others in the creative industry.
Now, I specialise in live wedding painting capturing the magic, emotion, and energy of your day in real time. I genuinely love love. There is nothing more inspiring to me than being part of one of the most meaningful days of a couple’s life. From the moment I arrive, to setting up quietly at your venue, to stealing that perfect moment for reference, I immerse myself fully in your celebration. I paint throughout the reception, surrounded by the warmth and joy of your guests, and take the piece back to my studio to lovingly refine every detail.
Whether it’s your first kiss as newlyweds, or a stolen moment just for the two of you I’ll transform that memory into a timeless, hand-painted heirloom to treasure for generations.
